The Jungian archetype test is a self-exploration questionnaire inspired by the analytical psychology of Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961). It works with twelve classic archetypes (Innocent, Explorer, Sage, Hero, Outlaw, Magician, Rebel/Everyman, Lover, Jester, Creator, Ruler, Caregiver) and identifies the one closest to your current profile.
What is an archetype
According to Jung, archetypes are "universal forms" present in the collective unconscious: symbolic figures recurring in mythologies, religions, fairy tales and dreams of different cultures. Not precise social roles but deep motifs (the Hero facing a trial, the Shadow to integrate, Anima and Animus balancing the psyche, the Sage bringing knowledge). The twelve archetypes of the test are a divulgative synthesis based on Carol Pearson and Margaret Mark s work.
The twelve archetypes
Innocent: trust, simplicity, hope. Explorer: freedom, search, journey. Sage: knowledge, truth, reflection. Hero: courage, challenge, mastery. Outlaw: rebellion, radical freedom. Magician: transformation, vision, symbolism. Everyman (Rebel/Neighbor): connection, authenticity, belonging. Lover: beauty, relationship, devotion. Jester: joy, lightness, unveiling. Creator: art, expression, originality. Ruler: responsibility, control, order. Caregiver: care, compassion, generosity.
How it works
Answer the questions spontaneously (without overthinking) choosing the option that best represents you now. The tool counts answers by archetypal category and returns your main archetype and secondary one, with a brief description and practical suggestions. People often have a combination of two archetypes (e.g. Sage + Caregiver, or Hero + Lover).
FAQ
How long does the test take?
A few minutes. Depends on the number of questions chosen: usually between 10 and 20.
Can I have two archetypes?
Yes. The complete reading indicates a main and a secondary archetype. Together they describe your current symbolic "rhythm".
Does it change over time?
Yes. Archetypes are potentialities: at different life phases a different archetype can activate. This is normal.
