Cookies
Tarotsi uses cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, local storage, tracking pixels) to make the site work, remember your preferences and, with your consent, measure traffic and show ads. This page explains which cookies we use, what they do and how you can manage them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the browser stores on your device (computer, smartphone or tablet) when you visit a site. They are used to recognize the device on future visits, keep the chosen language, maintain an active session and collect statistical data. Similar technologies such as local storage, web beacons and tracking pixels perform comparable tasks and are covered by the same policy.
Cookie categories
On Tarotsi we distinguish four categories. Necessary and technical cookies make the site work and cannot be disabled without compromising basic features. Analytics cookies collect aggregate usage data. Advertising cookies allow relevant ads to be shown and measured. Personalization cookies remember choices such as language, theme or reading preferences.
Technical cookies
They are used to manage the site language (ta_lang cookie), to record the consent status, to prevent abuse and to protect forms from automated submissions. They generally last for the session or up to twelve months. Without them some site functions may not be available.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
When enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand how pages are used in an aggregate and anonymized form. Typical cookies are _ga, _gid and other Google identifiers. The maximum retention of statistical data is 26 months. The information is used to improve content, speed and stability.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
Tarotsi may display ads through Google AdSense and partners under the EU User Consent Policy. Google and its partners may use cookies such as IDE, DSID and other identifiers to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites, limit how often you see an ad and measure performance. The maximum lifetime is generally two years. You can disable ad personalization in your Google account settings or via tools such as YourOnlineChoices.eu.
Personalization cookies
They remember non-essential but useful choices: selected language, cookie consent, visual preferences. They last up to twelve months.
Legal basis
Cookie processing relies on informed consent under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the ePrivacy directive. For technical cookies the basis is the legitimate interest in operating the service. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by updating choices in the banner or in browser settings.
How to manage cookies
You can configure your browser to accept, reject or delete cookies. Instructions vary by browser: Chrome (Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies), Firefox (Settings > Privacy and security), Safari (Preferences > Privacy), Edge (Settings > Cookies and permissions). For personalized ads you can also use Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and supranational portals like YourOnlineChoices.eu. Disabling technical cookies can reduce site functionality.
Data transfers outside the EU
The third-party services mentioned (notably Google) may involve transferring data outside the European Economic Area. In that case providers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or equivalent mechanisms to ensure an adequate level of protection.
Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect technical changes, new providers, regulatory developments or feedback from data-protection authorities. We invite you to check it periodically. The date of the last update is shown in the final section or in the site footer.
