One of humanity's most ancient divination arts. The priests and shamans of antiquity interpreted the behavior of sacred smoke to decipher messages from the gods. Focus on your question or what occupies your mind, and let the smoke speak.

Capnomancy, from the Greek kapnos "smoke" and manteia "divination", is the practice that interprets the shapes of smoke: from incense, a freshly extinguished candle, a ritual fire or a grain of salt thrown on the flame. It is documented since classical antiquity and in the shamanic cultures of northern Europe, Asia and the Americas.
What is observed
Smoke direction: upward and straight (favorable energy), to the right (near future, news), to the left (past, loved ones), broken (obstacles), low and dense (emotional weight, difficult atmosphere). Smoke shape: spiral (change, transformation), veil (spiritual presence, intuition), cloud (confusion, uncertainty), jet (urgency, word to be said). Color: clear (good omen), gray (neutral), dark (caution).
How to use online
Enter your question and ignite. The tool shows a smoke animation moving on screen. At the end it returns a "reading" of the simulated smoke: direction, shape and color are derived from the simulation and translated into a brief interpretation.
Traditions
In ancient Greece, capnomancy was practiced in temples during sacrifices. In the indigenous cultures of North America, observing pipe smoke or a ritual fire is still part of ceremonial practices. In the Far East, incense is read in Taoist and Buddhist temples. Today s home practice has more meditative than divinatory intent in the strict sense.

Can I use it for closed questions?
Better for open and introspective questions. For yes/no use the pendulum or the yes or no oracle.
